I play the piano, but i was wondering what age would be good for a little one to begin learning music and to play an instrument? Id like to pass on my skills you see and teach him things through music!

for children there are sometimes the keyboard layouts that you can put across the floor, enlarged so that its easier for children to play/learn, maybe one of those could be useful?
