My oldest son is 10 years old and a week ago he wanted one of his girlfriends to stay overnight. I said No, because I didn´t think it was appropriate. Is reached that age where it´s not that innocent anymore. He got really mad and could not at all understand my decision. Afterwards I thought about it and wondered whether it´s just me being all silly abt it. They have known each other for 6 years and are really good friends, but it still didn´t feel ok somehow. I find this age really tricky! Any other mums on the forum with similar experiences? xXx
I think it would depend on how well you know your son and just how far this 'boyfriend/girlfriend' thing goes. a lot of kids that age use those names and don't mean anything by them;however, other kids do. It just mainly strives around what you feel is comfortable. Is there anyway she can spend the night but not stay in his room? Like they 'camp out' in the living room?
