An over-interested mother can cramp their daughter’s caring style and make her feel under pressure to perform or follow exactly in her mother’s footsteps, what is the best course of action to deal with this, do you cut her out or have a serious talk?

hmmm.....I went throught the same (I think we all do) it depends on the relationship you have with your mum. we are really open with each other so I jsut sat her down and talked to her. She didn't even realize what she was doig

if you cant convince your mother that you are alright, lead by example by actions (actions speak louder than words etc.) and if she cannot handle that, then maybe limit her input into her granddaughter/son's life.

It hink sitting down and talking to her is the best option

I think, for most mums anyway, it is not HER mum that makes the hassel...but HIS!
